Position Summary 
Rue Insurance’s Assistant Account Manager is responsible for client account servicing and insurance renewal tasks to support the Account Managers. Quality of work must exemplify the best-in-class service standards established by Rue Insurance at all times. A primary objective of this role is to effectively support new and existing medium and large size commercial client accounts. The Assistant Account Manager is an integral part of the client onboarding and renewal processes. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist Account Managers with overall servicing of client accounts: 

    • request and compile pre-renewal client data 
    • request insurer loss runs 
    • create draft proposals and summaries of insurance 
    • invoice transactions and assist with billing reconciliations 
    • review policies for accuracy and request and process changes as necessary 
    • process mid-term policy change requests for client exposure changes  
    • assist with quoting and placing ancillary coverages a
    • assist with audit processing 
    • review and respond to basic client lease and contract requirements 
    • issue proofs of insurance and other client forms 
    • update and maintain Applied Epic client account and application detail 
    • create and transmit client correspondence and related documentation 
  • Process client policy renewals and remarketing 
  • Onboard new clients 
  • Follow up on outstanding items, including, but not limited to, policy change requests, cancellations and reinstatements, and overdue premium payments; update agency management system accordingly; and communicate any concerns to Account Manager 
  • Perform assigned responsibilities in accordance with agency-established client service standards 
  • Follow all agency processes and procedures, including but not limited to Epic Workflows, documentation, and paper and electronic record maintenance and retention guidelines 
  • Ensure all work product is timely and accurate 
  • Provide in-house customer service to producers and other agency departments as requested 
  • Evaluate and answer client coverage questions and other client inquiries 
  • Handle telephone, electronic, and in-person communication with clients, insurers, Rue personnel, and third parties in an empathetic and professional manner 
  • Attend and participate in department and company meetings as requested

Work Schedule & Classification: Full-time, salaried non-exempt position 
Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 Annually   

Required Qualifications 

  • Active New Jersey Property & Casualty Insurance License  
  • Functional and technical knowledge commercial lines core coverages    
  • At least 1 year of commercial lines insurance experience at agency or insurance company 
  • Strong customer service mindset and skills 
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Ability to operate in a time-sensitive environment, with a sense of urgency when required  
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail  
  • Ability to work well with others as a team, as well as to work well independently and accept accountability 
  • Ability to be flexible, and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 
  • ​​​​​​​Proficiency with agency management software   

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Construction and/or specialty insurance coverages knowledge
  • Experience with Applied Systems Epic software
